Wouter And The bix TryAthlon

Wouter signed up for the Try-athlon: http://tryathlon.weetbix.com.au/my-location/townsville
we trained with a bit of running and a bit of swimming and checking the rust on his bike (yep, it's there)
The day started with a few side activities to show off the other skills like soccer and AFL (note Sam's ball right int he centre hole!!
Then, no avoiding the torment, testing the limits of human endurance: putting on the swim cap... words fail to describe the pain...
But a real man does not give in...
the minutes are numbered and so are the kids...
discussing tactics(?) with best friend Michael

Sh%$#&@!!! I thought this triathlon was in the tropics?! Where's the penguins??
Slowed down by the freezing water and ice-bergs... it must have been below 30 degrees
warming up after that cold swim
magically fast find-the-bike and tie shoelaces turn-around
can't wait to get my motorbike licence
starting the run
finishing the run!

GOLD medal is MINE!!
TO BE CONTINUED NEXT YEAR

Canberra Human Brochure

Hi everyone,
Greet won a trip to Canberra to promote their tourism. Kind of a first Human brochure thing see: humanbrochure.com.au/
This means we have been provided with free flights to and accommodation to Canberra plus a full itinerary of activities to explore some bits of Canberra. After a leisurely stroll and lunch in the centre we got taken to the Australian War Memorial for tour (who knew Australian war dogs in Afghanistan wear 'Doggles') and a massive amount of 'finger' food (did I mention there is a tour bus, meaning we don't have to drive meaning we dug into the wine?)
Pics got a bit mixed up
