First school day for Wouter

Wouter's first day at school! Lots of excitement and nerves (from us). Wouter didn't really see what the whole fuss was about. On the way to school Wouter told Robert of his great ambition for today: He wants to learn to wipe his own bum and to cook. If only he would wash his hands in between it would be a perfect score!

Only after the first day did we find out that the ridiculous shoes and - white - socks are only compulsory for excursions! So, since that first day he has been wearing his orange crocs!

 Once on the playground I lost track of him in the yellow shirts, but he was playing along happily. He immediately felt at home; much more than me!! All the rather nervous first-timers (parents, not the kids) were standing around wondering what to do.

It was close feeding time in the zoo and once the lunch box trolley was carted in all the animals had to gather on the patch of grass and sit down and wave their hand if their was called. Wouter was very good sitting still waiting for his lunchbox and waiting and waiting... and yes the very last one in the trolley was the green one with the smudged name on it. (definitely not a permanent marker.

He had banana and grapes for morning tea, not the twix and other yummies. In fact we later found out they are not allowed that kind of yummies.

His first day was a success and he still loves going to school. It is a shame he can only go those on wednesday and friday. Hopefully there will be more soon.
